Life Update: Explaining my absence

Hello, it’s me.

You may be wondering who the hell I am. That would be because I haven’t put out a blog post since 31st October 2018. (I know, I’m terrible).

Let me re-introduce myself. I am Bridie and I like books. I’m also a professional Actress and Singer.

The reason my ability to post blogs in a timely fashion disintegrated was because I suddenly got very busy in my acting career;  but also because I am an absolute Queen at procrastination.

HOWEVER. A lot of things have happened since you last heard from me.

The most important and exciting thing is that I am now a betrothed lady.

Whilst I am over the moon to finally be marrying the love of my life: wedding planning is STRESSFUL and takes up a hell of a lot of time.

I can honestly say that this year has been the busiest of my life, and we are barely into March yet. Last year I would tend to have a few days off per week with which I would lounge around not doing anything in particular. Now I have fully packed weeks in which I’m managing to be productive (a first for me) and frustratingly unable to fit everything I need to do into my schedule!

Look Mama – finally at 24 years of age I am growing up and becoming a fully fledged adult. I feel as though I am breaking the bad habit of a lifetime and now using my time affectively. I feel inspired to re-spark old interests (such as this blog) and also pursue some new ones.

On top of maintaining my Acting and Singing career and my part-time work as a Bookseller – I am now keen to start my own business as a freelance copywriter. As someone who loves the power and affect words can have on us, I find it frustrating to be a person who tends to stutter and blank on words when talking with someone face-to-face. Writing, in all formats, allows me time to relax and come up with an articulate way to say what I am feeling and thinking. I’d like to help people, particularly small businesses, who may not have the tools to communicate their message in an eloquent way. In fact, today I purchased an online Level 3 Diploma course in Professional Freelance Writing. I’m so excited to start this – once I can figure out how to fit the study into my already crazy schedule.

So this is where I am at. Very busy, very positive, very productive.

Can someone do me a favour and DM me a virtual slap if they notice me not actively posting blogs on here? Many thanks.

I’ll be back soon with some riveting new content I’m sure – Tatty Bye!
