Hello you beautiful beautiful people.
I normally wouldn’t share posts like this, but since this may affecting my blogging over the summer I thought it would be a good idea to bring it to attention. Before anyone worries – this is positive news.
No I am not pregnant
No I am not getting married
I’m sure all of you know that my real life job is a professional Actress and much like RuPaul, I have been Sittin’ on a Secret since February. (Not the same kind of secret mind you).
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to land a contract for this summer, and so I will be touring around the UK as the leading lady in a Theatre Production.
Because of my contract I cannot say anything more specific about it on social media until after the first official performance. But if you keep an eye out over the summer I’m sure you’ll see what I’m up to.
I begin rehearsals in July and then tour for rest of the month and the whole of August.
Now for the bittersweet news.
This does mean that I have had to give up my beloved day job as a bookseller.
But fear not, as I have plenty of ammunition left to create more bookseller blog posts, and I may well be returning to the shop come September/October time.
My last day at the bookshop is this coming Wednesday (20th) and I can announce, that in preparation of living without my staff discount card for a while, I will be doing…
THE MIGHTIEST BOOK HAUL YOU EVER DID SEE.
And I will be sharing that magnificent haul with all of you.
Via pictures… the actual books will be mine. I’m not sharing those.
So the reason I’m posting this is that I have no idea what this will mean for the upkeep of my blog over the months of July and August. It might be completely fine as I will carry on posting roughly once a week as normal. It might mean I post a couple of times a month. It could be that I am unable to post at all for two months. It’s really hard to say until I am there, I can see how the tour is organised and I know how much free time I have + how tired I am going to be.
I can hear some of you wondering – “Why don’t I schedule all my blog posts for those two months so I don’t have to worry?”
The answer to that is very simple. I procrastinate a lot. For example, this one sentence took me ten minutes to write.
Plus I don’t know what I am going to want to write about that far in advance. I find it much easier to write something when I know exactly what I want to say. The idea of churning out eight or nine blog posts in advance is harrowing, terrifying and impossible.
Of course I will do my best to keep my writing going over that time. It keeps me young and reminds me of how hilarious I am. But at the end of the day, I have been hired to do a job and I need to make sure I keep myself healthy and well rested enough to do that job to the absolute best of my ability.
I know you will all understand and be incredibly supportive. But I wanted to let you all know what was happening so you know what’s going on if I suddenly drop off the face of the planet for a couple of months.
I hope you will all tune in for my epic book haul next week.
Spoiler: I will be bringing my wheelie suitcase into work that day and my boyfriend is booking a taxi to get me home…this is how monstrous of a haul we are talking…
